How to Call Santa for Free (and Make It Magical for Little Kids)

Want to see your little one’s face light up? Let them call Santa. Our free Santa line is open now, and it’s one of the sweetest little traditions you can start this year.

    The free Santa phone number

Call 1-877-738-1375. It’s toll-free, so there’s nothing to pay. Santa picks up with a jolly hello, asks your child’s name, and asks what they’re wishing for this year.

One thing for grown-ups to know: our Santa line is an automated Santa voice. That’s how Santa can pick up any time, day or night, even on Christmas Eve when the elves are busiest.

How to set up the call

    1. Talk about it first. “Guess what? We can call the North Pole today!” A little build-up makes it feel special.
    2. Use speakerphone. Little kids do better when they can hear you nearby and see the phone.
    3. Stay close. Sit right next to your child so you can help if they freeze up.
    4. Have a wish ready. Some kids forget everything the second Santa says hello. Practice one wish together before you dial.

    What Santa might ask

    • What’s your name?
    • What are you wishing for this Christmas?
    • Have you been helping out at home?

It helps to talk through these before the call, so your child has an answer ready.

    Tips for shy kids

Lots of toddlers get quiet when Santa actually picks up. That’s normal. A few things that help:

    • Let them just listen the first time. Hearing Santa’s voice is magic all by itself.
    • Whisper the answers to them, and let them repeat it.
    • Call again another day. The second call is almost always easier.

Make it a Christmas Eve tradition

A quick call to Santa before bed on Christmas Eve is a sweet way to end the night. Pair it with a reply letter from Santa left by the cookie plate, and you’ve got a tradition your kids will ask for every year. Our Christmas Eve box ideas have a few more easy ones.

Want Santa to say your child’s name?

Every Penny’s Christmas Bundle comes with a personal video from Santa. He says your child’s name and thanks them for something kind they did this year. The bundle also has our 24-day advent calendar, a Christmas Eve storybook, coloring pages and Christmas Eve printables.

    Questions parents ask

Is it really free to call Santa?

Yes. 1-877-738-1375 is a toll-free number, so the call doesn’t cost anything.

What age is best for calling Santa?

Kids around 2 to 7 love it most. Younger toddlers may just want to listen, and that’s perfectly fine.

Can we call more than once?

Of course. Lots of kids like to call back with a new wish or to tell Santa they’ve been extra helpful.

    When can we call?

Any time. Santa’s line is open day and night, all season long.
